Becoming greener is on everyone’s agenda these days. We’re all trying to be a little kinder to the environment and to ourselves. The great thing about being green is that it actually benefits you just as much as it benefits the environment – so really, it’s a win-win situation.
When it comes to baby’s clothes, there are several reasons why buying organic baby clothing, such as the onesies featured in our organic baby gifts section, is a good idea:
1. Avoid Toxins on Baby’s Skin
Modern, mainstream clothes are designed to be long-lasting and resistant to stains, but this comes at a price – fabrics are often treated in materials that can later release toxins into the wearer’s skin and trigger allergic reactions and skin issues such as eczema. While I wouldn’t worry about this too much when it comes to older kids or adults, I do prefer to see newborns wear natural clothing that are as free from toxins as possible.
2. Protect the Environment
Organic clothing manufacturers typically employ manufacturing techniques and practices that are much gentler on the environment than mainstream manufacturers. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility and avoid or reduce the use of toxins.
3. Support Organic Manufacturers
If you care about the environment, the best way to make sure organic production systems – whether for clothing or food – become widespread is to support them by buying their products!
In addition to all of the above, organic cotton simply feels amazing! So it’s not like you are required to sacrifice anything when you choose organic baby clothing – perhaps you will pay a low premium in terms of price, but you will also get a superior product.

That are pretty much the 3 biggest reasons I use organic products for my baby. Organic and biodegradable baby products are healthier for my baby because there are no chemicals or toxins in it, so it is much better.
